To Russia with Love: Imagination Technologies + MIPS = ? In February 13 2013 took place an event that was extensively discussed for several months. A well known processor IP-cores developer and supplier was acquired for $100 million by an English company Imagination Technologies that is also widly known at the processor IP-core market mainly for their graphic processors for mobile systems. Particular significance of this deal lays in the probability that it may destabilize the existing at the market ARM embedded processors core monopoly. About the company and its development plans in the light of the acquisition and among them about Russian plans was our interview with Imagination Technologies’ vise-president Steve Harris.

The First Russian 3D-MID Conference. Main Topics Review Modern processes redefined 3D circuits on plastic technology and gave them new birth. In October 2013 was held the fist Russian conference dedicated to three-dimensional circuits development. This event was arranged by the Scientific-Research Institute of innovation technologies, that falls under group of companies Ostec, with the European Association 3D-MID – Research Assocoation Molded Interconnect Devices, 3D-MID e.V. support and participation. The papers presented at the conference covered the main aspects of 3D-MID and related technologies, illustrated their trends, presented up-to-date 3D-MID applications.
